Denise Ann Kirby

I’ve lived in the Kansas City area most of my life, and I have practiced law in Kansas City since I graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1994.

I believe that it is impossible for an attorney to keep up with the changes in the law in many different areas. That is why I limit my practice to DUI/DWI and criminal defense. The law changes frequently in these areas, usually several times a year.

When something is wrong with my car, I have no idea whether I can tust the mechanic. I imagine it feels that way to clients looking to hire a lawyer. When interviewing an attorney, ask many questions about his or her experience with your type of situation. Ask what they do to better themselves and keep up with the law. What courses have they attended recently? Do they speak at legal seminars to teach other lawyers? Don’t be afraid to ask these questions. You’re hiring someone you will be trusting with your future.
