Carl Matthew Ward

Carl Matthew Ward grew up in St. Charles, Missouri, where I graduated from High School in 1975.   I was a baseball pitcher, but blew my arm out before my senior year.  I played the French Horn in the orchestra and band.  I worked at a restaurant all through high school.

After I graduated high school, I was offered a job in restaurant management in Sarasota, Florida.   Three years later, I moved back to Missouri so I could continue my education.  I worked my way through colllege and law school while doing “hot tar” roofing, landscaping work, and private security work.  I met my wife, Judy, in college, was married in 1981, and have been happily married ever since.  I have two daughters, a grandson, and a new granddaughter.

After my graduation from law school at St. Louis University in 1984, I started practicing law.  For the first five years of my career, I worked for a law firm in downtown St. Louis and learned the practice of law from some of the very best attorneys I have ever known.  I then started my own law practice in 1989.

I have lived in Peoria, Illinois, where I was born in 1957.  I have lived in Chesterfield, Maryland Heights, Valley Park, and Washington, Mo.   I now live in Villa Ridge, Mo.  My first office was in Clayton, Missouri.  Thereafter, my office was in Chesterfield and Washington.  I currently have an office in Des Peres, Mo.  I plan on staying there for at least the next 10 years.

My favorite country to visit is Ireland.  My favorite place to visit in the US is South Beach, Miami, Florida.  My favorite past time is watching World of Outlaws sprint car and NASCAR races.  I collect breath alcohol testing devices.  I am a geneologist and love WWI and Civil War history.  My grandfather fought in the trenches in France duing WWI.  My great, great grandfather fought for the Union Army as a member of the 7th Tennessee Cavalry, USA.  I have been to numerous Civil War battlefields around the Country.

My favorite charity is the US Army Special Forces Association.   The Army “Special Forces” are also known as the “Green Berets.”  I have made it my special mission to raise as much money as possible for the families of those GB soldiers who have given their lives protecting our Country.
